Before buying read the information below.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Only Drawings are sold no motors or any hardware is included in this offer (if you need bearings, you can send me an email for a quotation).
- the drawings are sold in order to help me develop more models and recover part of the cost.
-Drawings consist of instruction manual (with few photos) and drawings files (Pdf + Dxf + IGES files).
- If after buying you need some particular photos to see some details not included in the manual, I will send them.
- There is no shipping via post mail. Only Email And / Or access to an internet resource to download the drawings.
- If there is any future improvement, buyers (identified by their email address) will automatically receive updates and revised drawings.
- PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ORIGINAL DESIGN IS MADE OF 75x10mm FLAT ALUMINUM BAR
AND 50x50x5mm ALUMINUM ANGLES,
as a consequence, I can not guaranty that the system will work if it is
wood made but I believe it can work even if you can not get the same rigidity as
10mm thick aluminum.
- The drawings can also be used as a starting base for the design of a slightly different machine (wood made or with different travel lenghts).
- Note that the original machine is made of expensive materials such as linear bearings (12 pieces for about $500), aluminum (which needs to be machined)...
- Final cost will depend on the motors and driver board you will use but don t except a low cost. It will also depend a lot on your ability to get the part made by yourself or not.
- I personally had the parts machined in a workshop and the fabrication cost is quite high...but the result is a semi-professional machine which is rigid and precise.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
- New update: ballscrew version! more than 4.2m/min maximum speed (travel becomes 600x500x40).
Also higher rigidity update.
- travels are about 800x500x40mm (can be extended)
- Motion is done with a M16 threaded rod (so 2mm per stepper revolution) or ballscrew (5mm per revolution).
- I recommend to use high torque steppers (>100 Oz.in).
- Machine is designed for the use of either Dremel tools or Makita style trimmers (70mm diameter).
- For the software to control your cnc, you can use Mach 2 ( http://www.artofcnc.ca/ ) ... it is a really good one!
